The latest information from NJ Transit is:
6/19 -
1. Station Parking Lot - New island has been completed and will restore original soil. Weather permitting, the parking lot will be paved and restriped on Saturday 6/20. This is "base" paviing for the duration of the project when a final asphalt coating will be applied.
2. Train Station Building will be closed for July and August, 2009 for interior renovations of the bathrooms and waiting room.
3. West Side Commuters are advised to cross at the W. Ridgewood Ave and Franklin Ave. crosswalk to get to the train station. The access across Franklin Ave. at Pease into the parking lot will be closed off as determined by the Police Dept. Signs will be placed at the base of the stairs from Corsa Terrace as well as at the bottom of Library Place, that will direct pedestrians to cross at the crosswalk on W. Ridgewood Ave. Safety is important and pedestrians trying to cross 4 lanes of traffic puts themselves and the Village of Ridgewood at great risk.
4. The sidewalk along Franklin Ave., under the Train Trestle is closed to the public until the end of the construction project. Access from east to west will be limited to the existing pedestrian underpass at the south end of the train complex. Please do NOT walk in the street under the trestle to get to the West Side.
5. One traffic lane will be closed on Franklin Ave. due to construction. NJ Transit will hire Ridgewood police to ensure traffic continues to flow through this busy intersection.
6. The 'green' island in the parking lot is being reconfigured to create new parking spaces. The out bound tracks will be moved, eliminating some parking spaces. With the island reconfiguration, we will be able to maintain our current number of parking spaces. This part of the project is taking longer than anticipated due to finding a gas line that will need to be redirected.
7. The Shuttle Bus will wait for the NJ Transit Train at 6:52 PM to arrive (in case it is late) to ensure that riders who need the bus will be able to get on to it.

The roadway in front of the Pease Library is Garber Square, not Franklin Avenue. I know that this is a minor mistake, but it may confused people.
Also, you will have to take these measures to travel to the east side of town, not just to the west side of town.
Funny does NJT only think that people move from East to West? I am not trying to start an argument, I just don't think they understand or maybe are trying to ignore just how many people this project is affecting.
Can anyone explain why it has taken so long to "find" the gas line? Am I the only one who thinks that is a little bit scary?
yes...yes you are.
